Exar Senior Vice President Appointed to University Engineering Advisory Board

Fremont, California, November 5, 2007 - Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR) announced that Edward M. Lam, senior vice president, Product Lines, was appointed to the Engineering Advisory Board of the School of Science and Engineering at San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California. Mr. Lam is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a BSEE degree.

Before his appointment as Senior Vice President, Product Lines at Exar, Mr. Lam was senior vice president, Marketing and Business Development at Sipex. Mr. Lam joined Sipex in September 2005, and has over 20 years of analog semiconductor industry experience with National Semiconductor Corporation. Mr. Lam's experience covers all aspects of the analog business including manufacturing, test, and product and strategy development.
